The lesson gives us a beautiful insight About a place named Coorg in Karnataka and is famous for coffee , rainforests and spices . It lies geographically between Mysore and Mangalore in the smallest district of Karnataka . The place has an amazing weather throughout the year with enough rain during the monsoon season . The people of Coorg are known to be one of the bravest . Coffee is the main crop grown in this region . A variety of animals can found here while the place is surrounded by beautiful Brahmagiri Hills .

Coorg is coffee country , famous for its rainforests and spices . Midway between Mysore and the coastal town of Mangalore sits a piece of heaven that must have drifted from the kingdom of god . This land of rolling hills is inhabited by a proud race of martial men , beautiful women and wild creatures . Coorg , or Kodagu , the smallest district of Karnataka , is home to evergreen rainforests , spices and coffee plantations . Evergreen rainforests cover thirty per cent of this district . During the monsoons , it pours enough to keep many visitors away . The season of joy commences from September and continues till March .
कुर्ग कॉफी वाला गाँव है जो वर्षा वनों और मसालों के लिए प्रसिद्ध है । मैसूर और तटीय कस्बे मंगलौर के बीच रास्ते में एक स्वर्ग का टुकड़ा स्थित है । अवश्य ही भगवान के साम्राज्य से हवा द्वारा उड़ाकर लाया गया होगा । इस घुमावदार पहाड़ियों की धरती पर लड़ाके लोगों की नस्लें , सुंदर औरतें तथा जंगली जीव निवास करते हैं । कुर्ग या कोडागु , कर्नाटक का सबसे छोटा जिला , सदाबहार वर्षा जगलों , मसालों और कॉफी बागानों का घर है । सदाबहार वर्षा वन इस जिले का 30 प्रतिशत भाग को ढकते है । मानसून के समय , वर्षा की बौछारे बहुत से पर्यटक को दूर रखने के लिए प्र्याप्त होती हैं । आनंद की ऋतु सिसम्बर से आती हैं और मार्च तक निरंतर रहती है ।

Coffee estates and colonial bungalows stand tucked under tree canopies in prime corners . The fiercely independent people of Coorg are possibly of Greek or Arabic descent . पर्याप्त मात्रा में वर्षा होने के कारण मौसम बहुत अच्छा होता है । हवा में ताजगी प्रदान करने में कॉफी की महक होती है । कॉफी एस्टेट उपनिवेशी बंगले पेड़ों की छतरी के नीचे एकान्त में सिमटे खड़े हैं । कुर्ग के अत्यधिक स्वतंत्र लोग संभवतः यूनानी अथवा अरबी वंशज हैं ।
As one story goes , a part of Alexander's army moved south along the coast and settled here when return became impractical . These people married amongst the locals and their culture is apparent in the martial traditions , marriage and religious rites , which are distinct from the Hindu mainstream . The theory of Arab origin draws support from the long , black coat with an embroidered waist - belt worn by the Kodavus . Known as kuppia , it resembles the kuffia worn by the Arabs and the Kurds .

Coorgi homes have a tradition of hospitality , and they are more than willing to recount numerous tales of valour related to their sons and fathers . The Coorg Regiment is one of the most decorated in the Indian Army , and the first Chief of the Indian Army , General Cariappa , was a Coorgi . Even now , Kodavus are the only people in India permitted to carry firearms without a licence . The river , Kaveri , obtains its water from the hills and forests of Coorg . Mahaseer - a large freshwater fish — abound in these waters . Kingfishers dive for their catch , while squirrels and langurs drop partially eaten fruit for the mischief of enjoying the splash and the ripple eli in the clear water . Elephants enjoy being bathed and scrubbed in the river by their mahouts .
कुर्गी घरों में मेहमाननवाजी की परंपरा है और ये अपने बेटों एवं पिताओं से संबंधित बहादुरी की कहानियों को सुनाने की बात ज्यादा इच्छा रखते हैं । कुर्ग रेजीमेंट भारतीय सेना में सर्वाधिक सुसज्जित है , और भारतीय सेना का पहला जनरल करियप्पा एक कुगे । आज भी केवल कोडायु लोगों को बिना लाइसेंस के हथियार रखने की इजाजत है । कावेरी नदी को इसका पानी कुर्ग की पहाड़ियों और जंगलों से प्राप्त होता है । महासीर मछली इस पानी में काफी संख्या में पाई जाती है । किंगफिशर पक्षी उनका शिकार करने के लिए गोते लगाता है , जबकि गिलहरियों और संगूर आधे खाए हुए फल साफ पानी में पानी की आवाज और लहरों के चलने का आनंद लेने के लिए फेंकते हैं । हाथी अपने महावतों द्वारा नहलाए जाने और नदी में गई जाने का आनन्द लेते हैं ।

Numerous walking trails in this region are a favourite with trekkers . Birds , bees and butterflies are there to give you company . Macaques , Malabar squirrels , langurs and slender loris keep a watchful eye from the tree canopy . I do , however , prefer to step aside for wild elephants . सबसे अधिक आराम में रहने वाले लोग , लकड़ी का प्लेटफार्म चलाने , लम्बी नाव खेने , ऊंची चट्टानों से नीचे उतरने , चट्टानों पर चढ़ने और पहाड़ों पर मोटरसाइकिल चलाने जैसे साहसिक काम करने वाले बन जाते हैं । विभिन्न पगडंडियाँ इस इलाके में बैलगाड़ी की सवारी करने वालों की प्रिय है । वहाँ पर आपका साथ देने के लिए पक्षी , मधुमक्खियाँ और तितलियाँ हैं । मैकाक ( एक प्रकार का बंदर ) मालाबार की गिलहरियाँ , लंगूर और दुबला लोरी पक्षी पेड़ों की छतरी में से ध्यानपूर्वक चौकसी करते रहते हैं । फिर भी मैं जंगली हथियों से बचना ( दूर रहना ) पसंद करता हूँ ।
