Where there is sterling faith and
uncompromising purity there is health, there is success, and there is power. In
such a one, disease, failure and disaster can find no lodgment, for there is
nothing on which they can feed.

The sooner we realize and acknowledge
that sickness is the result of our own error or sin, the sooner shall we enter
upon the highway of health. Disease comes to those who attract is, to those
whose minds and bodies are receptive to it and flees from those whose strong,
pure and positive thought-sphere generates healing and life giving currents.
जितनी जल्दी हम अनुभव करें और स्वीकार

हैं की बीमारी हमारी अपनी गलतियों या पाप का फल हैं , उतनी
ही जल्दी हम स्वास्थ्य मार्ग पर अग्रसर हो सकेगे । बीमारी उनके पास आती है जो उसे

उसके ग्राही हैं , और बीमारी उनसे दूर भागती है जिनके शक्तिशाली , शुद्ध

If you are given to anger, worry,
jealousy, greed, or any other inharmonious state of mind and expect perfect physical
health you are expecting the impossible, for you are continually sowing the
seeds of disease in your mind. Such conditions of mind are carefully shunned by
the wise man, for he knows them to be far more dangerous than a bad drain or an
infected house.
यदि आप क्रोध , चिन्ता

, लालच
या किसी अन्य अशात मानसिक अवस्था के शिकार है और आप पूर्ण शारीरिक स्वास्थ्य की
आशा करते हैं तो आप असंभव की आशा कर रहे हैं क्योंकि आप लगातार अपने मस्तिष्क में
बीमारी के बीज बो रहे हैं । बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति ऐसी मानसिक दशाओं से होशियारी से

If you would be free from all physical
aches and pains, and would enjoy perfect physical harmony, then put your mind in
order, and harmonise your thoughts. Think joyful thoughts; think living
thoughts; let the elixir or goodwill course through your veins, and you will
need no other medicine. Put away your jealousies, your suspicions, your
worries, your hatreds, your selfish indulgences, and you will put away your
dyspepsia, your biliousness, your nervousness and aching joints. If you will
persist in clinging to these debilitating and demoralizing habits of mind, then
do not complain when your body is laid low with sickness.
यदि आप सभी शारीरिक दर्द और पीड़ाओं से
मुक्ति प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं और पूर्ण शारीरिक समरसता का आनंद लेना चाहते हैं , तब

जब आप का शरीर बीमारी से ग्रसित हो जाएगा।
Many people complain that they have
broken down through over-work. In the majority of such cases, the breakdown is
more frequently the result of foolishly wasted energy. If you would secure
health you must learn to work without friction. To become anxious or excited,
or to worry over needless details is to invite a breakdown. Work, whether of
brain or body, is beneficial and health-giving and the man who can work with a
steady and calm persistency, freed from all anxiety and worry and with his mind
utterly oblivious to all but the work he has in hand, will not only accomplish
far more than the man who is always hurried and anxious, but he will retain his
health, a boon which the other quickly forfeits.
बहुत से लोग शिकायत करते हैं कि कार्य
की अधिकता के कारण उनका स्वास्थ्य खराब हो गया है । ऐसे मामलों में अधिकांश खराब
स्वास्थ्य प्रायः मूर्खतापूर्ण ढंग से बरबाद की हुई शक्ति का परिणाम होता है । यदि
आप स्वास्थ्य को सुरक्षित रखना चाहते हैं तो आपको चिंतामुक्त होकर कार्य करने का
ढंग आना चाहिए । बेचैन होना या उत्तेजित होना अथवा अनावश्यक विवरण पर चिंता करना , खराब
स्वास्थ्य को निमंत्रण देना है । कार्य चाहे मस्तिष्क का हो या शरीर का , लाभदायक
और स्वास्थ्यप्रद होता है और जो व्यक्ति मानसिक शांति भंग किए बिना लगातार और दृढ़ता
से कार्य कर सकता है , जो सभी परेशानियों और चिन्ता से मुक्त होता है , अपने
हाथ में लिए कार्य के अतिरिक्त अन्य सब बातों को बिलकुल भूलकर कार्य कर सकता है , वह
अपने कार्य को कहीं अधिक अच्छी तरह से समाप्त करेगा ; उस
व्यक्ति की अपेक्षा जो सदैव जल्दबाजी में और बेचैन होता है । पहले प्रकार का
व्यक्ति वरदानस्वरूप अपना स्वास्थ्य भी बनाए रखता है जबकि दूसरा व्यक्ति बहुत ही
शीघ्र , सजा के रूप में , अपना स्वास्थ्य खो बैठता है ।

Build upon such a faith, and you build
upon the Rock of the Eternal, and with the material of the Eternal, and
structure that you erect will never be dissolved, for it will transcend all the
accumulations of material luxuries and riches, the end of which is dust.
Whether you are hurled into the depths of sorrow, or lifted upon the heights of
joy, ever retain your hold upon this faith, ever return to it as your rock of
refuge, and keep your feet firmly planted upon its immortal and immovable base

हैं तो आप स्थायी रूप से उसकी दृढ़ नीव रखते हैं और शाश्वत सामग्री का प्रयोग करते

Centered in such a faith, you will become
possessed of such a spiritual strength as will shatter, like so many toys of
glass, all the forces of evil that are hurled against you, and you will achieve
a success such as the mere striver after worldly gain can never know or even
dream of. If you will become possessed of this faith, you will not need to
trouble about your future success or failure, and success will come. You will
not need to become anxious about results, nut will work joyfully, and

खिलौने टूटकर चकनाचूर हो जाते हैं तथा आप ऐसी सफलता प्राप्त करेंगे जिसको सांसारिक
आनन्द खोजने वाला कभी जान भी नहीं पाएगा और यहाँ तक कि वह उसकी कल्पना भी नहीं कर
सकेगा । यदि इस विश्वास का वास आप में हो जाए ,
तो आपको अपने भविष्य की सफलता या
असफलता के बारे में परेशान होने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी और सफलता प्राप्त होगी ।
आपको परिणाम के बारे में चिन्ता करने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी , परन्तु

Send forth hateful, impure and unhappy
thoughts, and curses will rain down upon you and fear and unrest will wait upon
your pillow. You are the unconditional maker of your fate, be that fate what it
may. Every moment you are sending forth from you the influences which will make
or mar your life. Let your heart grow large and loving and unselfish and great
and lasting will be your influence and success, even though you make little
money. Confine it within the narrow limits of self-interests, and even though
you become a millionaire, your influence and success, at the final reckoning,
will be found to be utterly insignificant.
यदि आप घृणित , बुरे तथा कष्टदायक विचार रखते हैं तो
अभिशापों की आप पर वर्षा होगी तथा भय तथा बेचैनी आपके तकिए पर प्रतीक्षा करेंगे ।
आप अपने भाग्य के सच्चे निर्माता स्वयं ही हैं । चाहे वह भाग्य कैसा भी हो ।
प्रतिक्षण आप अपने से उन विचारों को दूर रख पा रहे हैं जो विचार आपके जीवन को बना
अथवा नष्ट कर रहे होते हैं । आप अपने हृदय को विशाल तथा नि : स्वार्थ बनाइये तथा
आपका प्रभाव तथा सफलता स्थायी होंगे ; यद्यपि आप थोड़ा ही धन पैदा कर पाते हैं । इसे
( हृदय ) आप अपने स्वार्थ की संकुचित सीमा में सीमित कीजिए , यद्यपि
आप करोड़पति हो सकते हैं लेकिन ऐसी दशा में आपका प्रभाव तथा आपकी सफलता अंत में
पूर्ण रूप से महत्वहीन होगी ।
Cultivate, then, this pure and unselfish
spirit, and combine with purity and faith, singleness of purpose, and you are
evolving from within the elements, not only of abounding health and enduring
success, but of greatness and power.
तब आप अपने अन्दर इस पवित्र तथा नि :
स्वार्थ भावना को विकसित कीजिए तथा अपने अन्दर पवित्रता , विश्वास
तथा एक निश्चित लक्ष्य को समायोजित कीजिए । तब आप अपने अन्दर से महान स्वास्थ्य
तथा स्थायी सफलता ही नहीं बल्कि महानता तथा शक्ति के तत्व विकसित करेंगे ।
Whatever your task may be, concentrate
your whole mind upon it, throw into it all the energy of which you are capable.
The faultless completion of small tasks leads inevitably to larger tasks. See
to it that you rise by steady climbing and you will never fall. And herein lies
the secret of true power. Learn, by constant practice, how to husband you
resources, and to concentrate them, at an moment, upon a given point. The
foolish waste all their mental and spiritual energy in frivolity foolish
chatter, or selfish argument not to mention wasteful physical excesses.
जो कुछ भी आपका कार्य हो , उस
कार्य पर अपना पूर्ण मन एकाग्रचित कर दीजिए । उस कार्य को करने में आप अपनी पूर्ण
शक्ति लगा दीजिए जिस शक्ति के आप योग्य हैं । छोटे - छोटे कार्यों की त्रुटिहीन
पूर्णता निश्चित रूप से बड़े - बड़े कार्यों की ओर ले जाती है । इस बात का भी
ध्यान रखें कि आप धीरे - धीरे उन्नति की ओर अग्रसर हों तब आप अपने उद्देश्य में
कभी भी असफल नहीं होंगे । इसी में शक्ति का रहस्य छिपा होता है । अपने साधनों की
उचित प्रकार से व्यवस्था करना सीखिए तथा उनका उचित प्रयोग करना सीखिए । मूर्ख
प्राणी अपनी मानसिक तथा आध्यात्मिक शक्ति को मूर्खतापूर्ण कार्य करने में , व्यर्थ
का वार्तालाप करने में अथवा स्वार्थपरता के तर्क करने में या अत्यधिक खाने तथा
पीने में बर्बाद कर देते हैं
If you would acquire overcoming power
you must cultivate poise and passivity. You must be able to stand alone. All
power is associated with immovability. The mountain, the massive rock, the
storm-tried oak, all speak to us of power, because of their combined solitary
grandeur and defiant fixity while the shifting sand, the yielding twig, and the
waving reed speak to us of weakness, because they are movable and
non-resistant, and are utterly useless when detached from their fellows. He is
the man of power who, when all his fellows are swayed by some emotion, or
passion, remains calm and unmoved.
यदि तुम अन्य व्यक्तियों पर विजय
प्राप्त करने की शक्ति प्राप्त करना चाहते हो तो तुम्हें मस्तिष्क का सन्तुलन तथा
शान्ति प्राप्त करनी चाहिए । तुम्हें अकेला खड़ा होने के योग्य होना चाहिए ।
प्रत्येक प्रकार की शक्ति दृढ़ता से सम्बन्धित होती है । पर्वत , बड़ी
- बड़ी चट्टानें तथा बलूत का वृक्ष अपनी संचित व तथा स्थायी दढता के कारण अपनी
शक्ति के उदाहरण हमारे समक्ष प्रस्तत करते हैं । जबकि हिलते हुए मिट्टी के ढेर , झुकी
हुई शाखाएँ तथा हिलते हुए सरकंडे अपनी कमजोरी को प्रकट करते हैं , क्योंकि
वे सभी विचलित तथा अस्थिर होते हैं और पूर्ण रूप से निरर्थक सिद्ध होते हैं जब वे
अपने साथियों से अलग कर दिये जाते हैं । वही व्यक्ति शक्ति का प्रतीक होता है जो
हर संकट में अविचलित तथा शान्त रहता है जबकि उसके सारे साथी विपत्ति में अपनी
तीव्र इच्छाओं तथा संवेगों से प्रभावित हो जाते हैं ।
He only is fitted to command and control
who has succeeded in commanding and controlling himself. The hysterical the
fearful, the thoughtless and frivolous, let such seek company, or they will
fall for lack of support; but the calm, the fearless, the thoughtful, and
grave; lit such seek the solitude of the solitude of the forest, the desert and
the mountain-top, and more power will be added to their power, and they will
more and more successfully stem the psychic currents and whirlpools which
engulf mankind.
केवल वही प्राणी आदेश देने तथा
नियन्त्रण करने में सक्षम होता है जो अपने स्वयं पर नियन्त्रण करने में सफल हो
चुका है अर्थात् उसका अपनी इच्छाओं तथा संवेगों पर पूर्ण नियन्त्रण होता है ।
संवेगपूर्ण भावनाओं , भयानक ,
विचारविहीन तथा तुच्छ एवं निरर्थक
व्यक्तियों का प्रयास ऐसे सक्षम व्यक्ति की संगति प्राप्त करने का होता है लेकिन
इस प्रकार के व्यक्ति सहयोग के अभाव में अवश्य ही असफल हो जायेंगे । लेकिन शान्त , निर्भीक
, विचारशील
तथा गम्भीर किस्म के प्राणी जंगल के एकान्तवास में भी शरण का स्थान खोज लेते हैं ।
रेगिस्तानों तथा पर्वत शिखाओं पर भी उनकी शक्तियों में वृद्धि होती रहेगी तथा वे
अधिक से अधिक सफलतापूर्वक लहरों , जटिल कार्यों तथा मानसिक वातावरण में अपनी
शक्ति में वृद्धि करते चले जायेंगे । वे इस प्रकार के प्राणी अधिक से अधिक बुरे
प्रभावों पर नियन्त्रण करने में अधिक सफल हो जायेंगे जो बुरे प्रभाव तथा कष्ट मानव
जाति को घेरे रहते हैं ।
Passion is not power; it is the abuse of
power, the dispersion of power. Passion is like a furious storm which beats
fiercely and wildly upon the embattled rock, which beats fiercely and wildly
upon the embattled rock, whilst power is like the rock itself which remains silent
and unmoved through it all.
संवेग (जुनून ) शक्ति नहीं होती है । संवेग शक्ति का दुरुपयोग
तथा बर्बाद करना होता है । संवेग एक भयानक तूफान के समान होता है जो दृढ़ चट्टान (
कठोर व्यक्ति ) पर भयंकर रूप से तथा क्रूरता से प्रवाहित रहता है जबकि शक्ति अपने
स्वयं में एक चट्टान होती है जो हर परिस्थिति में शान्त तथा अचल रहती है ।
If you have not this power, you may
acquire it by practice and the beginning of power is likewise the beginning of
wisdom. You must commence by overcoming those purposeless trivialities to which
you have hitherto been a willing victim. Boisterous and uncontrolled laughter,
slander and idle talk, and joking merely to raise a laugh, all these things
must be put on one side and so much waste of valuable energy.
यदि आपके अन्दर इस शक्ति का अभाव है तो
आप इसे अभ्यास के द्वारा प्राप्त कर सकते हैं तथा शक्ति का आरम्भ ही बुद्धिमत्ता
का आरम्भ होता है । आपको उद्देश्यहीन कार्यों पर विजय प्राप्त करके कार्य का आरम्भ
करना होगा जिनका अब तक आप इच्छित शिकार रहे हैं । अशान्त तथा अनियन्त्रित हँसी , अपयश
की बातें तथा व्यर्थ के वार्तालाप तथा मनोरंजन के लिए व्यंग्य करना ये सभी कार्य
एक ओर रख देने चाहिए अर्थात् छोड़ देने चाहिए क्योंकि ये सभी कार्य बहुमूल्य शक्ति
को बर्बाद करते हैं ।
Above all, be of single aim; have a legitimate
and useful purpose, and devote yourself unreservedly to it. Let nothing draw
you aside; remember that, "The double-minded man is unstable in all his
ways." Be eager to learn, but slow to beg. Have a thorough understanding
of your work and let it be your own; and as you proceed, ever following the
inward Guide, the infallible Voice, you will pass on from victory to victory,
and will rise step by step to higher resting-places, and your ever broadening
outlook will gradually reveal to you the essential beauty and purpose of life.
सबसे महत्वपूर्ण सिद्धान्त यह कि आप एक
उद्देश्य वाले बनें । अपने जीवन में अपत तथा लाभदायक उद्देश्य गठित करें तथा अपने
स्वयं को इस कार्य में पूर्ण साहस के साथ व्यस्त रखा । काई भी कार्य आपको इस
उद्देश्य से विमख न कर दे । सदैव स्मरण रखें " दोहरे कार्य करने वाला व्यक्ति
अपने सभी कार्यों में असफल हो जाता है । " सदैव सीखने के लिए इच्छक बनें
परन्त मांगने म धाम रह । । अपने कार्य के बारे में पूर्ण समझदारी रखें तथा वह
समझदारी आपकी अपनी होनी चाहिए । जैसे - जैसे आप । उन्नति के मार्ग की ओर अग्रसर
हों , सदैव अपने अन्त : करण की आवाज तथा निर्देश का
पालन कर । इस प्रकार आप एक सफलता से दूसरी सफलता की ओर अग्रसर हो जायेंगे और धीरे
- धीरे प्रतिष्ठा के श्रेष्ठ स्थान की ओर आगे बढ़ेंगे तथा आपका विस्तृत दृष्टिकोण
आपको धीरे - धीरे आवश्यक सौन्दर्य ( कार्य का सौन्दर्य ) तथा जीवन के लक्ष्य की ओर
प्रेरित करेगा
Self-purified health will be yours;
faith protected, success will be yours; self-governed, power will be yours, and
all that you do will prosper, for, ceasing to be a disjointed unit,
self-enslaved, you will be in harmony with the Great Law, working no longer
against, but with universal Life, the Eternal Good. । अच्छे तथा पवित्र विचारों वाला स्वास्थ्य
आपका होगा । विश्वास की रक्षा करने वाली सफलता आपकी अपनी होगी । आत्म - नियन्त्रण
की शक्ति पर आपका अधिकार होगा तथा जो कुछ आप करेंगे उससे आप फलेंगे - फूलेंगे ।
यदि आप अव्यवस्थित होने तथा इच्छाओं के दास होने । से अपने स्वयं को रोक लेंगे तो

अन्य व्यक्तियों के द्वारा उस सफलता की कल्पना करना भी कठिन होगा तथा इस प्रकार की
सफलता कभी आपसे दूर नहीं होगी आप निरन्तर सफल होते रहेंगे । इस प्रकार: जो
भी प्रभाव तथा शक्ति आप प्राप्त करेंगे उसमें युगान्तर तक निरन्तर वृद्धि होती
रहेगी क्योंकि इस प्रकार की शक्ति एक स्थायी सिद्धान्त का अंग होगी जो समस्त
ब्रह्माण्ड ( विश्व ) की सहायता करता है ।
